With the environmental award, the state government honours exemplary companies that have aligned their operations in a particularly ecological and climate-friendly way, according to a press release. A total of 54 companies applied, 14 of which made it to the final round. On 9 December 2020, the state government awarded a total of seven companies in various categories from Baden-Württemberg. Due to Corona, we learned about our award in the category "Industrial companies with less than 250 employees" via livestream. The special thing about this was that our entire Brugger staff could follow everything live from home and keep their fingers crossed.

"We have been pursuing environmental protection and sustainable management since the company was founded in 1963," says Thomas Brugger about Brugger's extraordinary commitment. "Our drive here is both to save costs through the sensible and efficient use of resources and to protect our environment for ourselves and our descendants. We see ourselves as players in the balanced triad of economy, ecology and social cooperation, not only within the company but also beyond. Material and energy efficiency are important drivers for our actions. On a long path with gradual reduction of our CO2 emissions, we were CO2 neutral for the first time in 2019."

We want to set an example that environmentally oriented and sustainable management delivers good results in business management, while keeping the costs for the national economy as low as possible and thus we preserve a world worth living in for our children and grandchildren.

We feel like winners together with the other very good participants of the competition. Each of these outstanding companies deserved the environmental prize just as much.
